And one of my new favorites, unfortunately from Ralph Lauren.  Of course.  Because they are this awesomely retro-yet-modern shape and color, and look fabulous on and are actually pretty comfortable, and yet are $109 and will probably remain so forever.  Thanks, RALPH.  No chirpy updates on the deal I got on these in your future, alas.

Two updates on previously mentioned things.

  • Re: the possibly haunted but otherwise wonderful prospective apartment.  I drove out to see exactly where it was (getting thoroughly lost in downtown Ypsilanti’s one-way maze in the process) and after seeing the location, I’m thinking I need to seriously pursue it.  It’s this gorgeous historic district house, right in the heart of downtown, and granted, this is all ignoring the haunted aspect, though I’m rationalizing, at least it’s a studio?  So there’s a chance I’ll be less scared being able to see and light the entire thing?  But it also means I could be sharing a small living space with a ghost, so.  I still have to really see the inside and all that, it just keeps seeming more and more, well, perfect for me.  To be continued.
  • Re: the art deco Nine West shoes I’ve been in love with.  Get this deal, I love this one - they were originally $79, and I bought them when they went down to $59, during our 25% off Friends and Family promotion, plus my discount made them about $33, pretty good.  But then they went on sale this week to $39, so I giddily got a price adjustment, and when all was said and done, they were about $24-ish.  Seriously. I couldn’t even handle it.  And I love them, they look ridiculously cute with colored tights.  And yes, like my dad pointed out, I can’t believe I’ve become such a thrifty shoe girl.  Well, I can, considering the circumstances, but.

I’ve been playing Sims too much; the most recent family tree!  Basically everyone grew up a few steps.  Also notably, Allie died, terribly sad, but now annoys the crap out of me as a ghost (Arnold’s ghost I don’t mind, but she just floats around with the obnoxious ghost music and scares everyone), so I have to make a cemetery lot pretty soon.  And Bree’s pregnant again, and both Colt and Claudia are in college with these fierce bitches. "Mary, I know what I’m going to do tomorrow, and the next day, and next year, and the year after that - I’m shaking the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I’m gonna see the world. Italy, Greece, the Parthenon, the Colosseum… then, I’m coming back here to go to college and see what they know, and then I’m gonna build things. I’m gonna build airfields, I’m gonna build skyscrapers a hundred stories high, I’m gonna build bridges a mile long…"
